San Francisco School Board Meeting

May 12th, 2026 | 6:15PM | 555 Franklin St

Please join us next Tuesday, May 12th to rally and make public comment against school closures!

You might have heard that school district officials are blaming SFUSD’s enrollment system for decreasing enrollment and are now saying it must be changed.

SFUSD has used the lottery system since 2011 and families have expressed their dissatisfaction with it since then. So why are district officials choosing now as the time to overhaul our enrollment system, instead of past years when families expressed their dissatisfaction?

The truth is, these enrollment changes are soft school closures in disguise. We’ve seen this story before: district officials tell families that “demand” for their school is lower, and cuts have to be made.

That’s why we need you to join us at the School Board meeting this Tuesday, May 12th, when Superintendent Su will formally announce the plan to overhaul the enrollment process. We need as many parents and community members as possible to show up and tell the board that we will not accept school closures in any form!

Please RSVP at the form below, and we hope to see you on Tuesday!
